Headquartered in Alviso, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately-owned IPTV software infrastructure and application company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication market. Minerva's customers are broadband network service providers, including international telephone companies, independent local exchange carriers, and competitive local exchange carriers.
Key Responsibilities:
We are currently in search of a Principle Solutions Architect to provide pre-sales technical expertise to win business in the Tier 1 and Tier 2 telephone carrier market worldwide. The Principle Solutions Architect will support Minerva's Executive Staff, major systems integrators, technology partners and strategic business partners to position Minerva to win in major accounts.
The Principle Solutions Architect's responsibilities include:
- Presenting to top technical and marketing staff to influence their requirements for upcoming RFPs
- Writing technical white papers to stake out market positioning and thought leadership
- Responding to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs for Tier 1 & Tier 2 Telcos
- Tailoring technical presentation materials for specific opportunities
- Serving as the main technical point of contact for strategic customers and prospects
- Driving the successful completion of Tier 1 and Tier 2 customer trials and evaluations
- Support demonstrations of the Company's products at customer sites and trade shows
- Explaining the technical merits of the products to prospective customers
Considerable travel is required. This position reports to the VP of Field Operations.
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Strong interpersonal skills, including persuasive speaking
- Intuitive Systems Engineering skills, a quick grasp of the overall structure of complicated systems, and an ability to convey complex technical ideas quickly and simply
- Clear and effective technical communication skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Ability to create powerful technical presentation materials using Visio and PowerPoint
- Strong motivation to learn; a self-starter
- Deep technical background in one or many of the following fields: IPTV solutions, Oracle Database and Application Server technology, IP networking and multicast routing
- Willingness and desire to get hands dirty to get experience with technology
Desired Experience:
- Enterprise-wide web application implementations
- Database Implementation, including Oracle RAC, clustering, and data replication
- Storage Area Network Implementation
- Design for scalability and performance
- Previous IPTV solution experience, including middleware, VOD, IP set-top box, or Conditional Access System implementations
- IPTV Network implementations, including access network, transport, or routing
Required Education:
Bachelor of Science or equivalent; Masters of Science preferred. 10+ years industry experience
