Headquartered in Alviso, CA and privately owned, Minerva Networks, is a leading supplier of IPTV middleware and applications. We are currently seeking an energetic, inspirational and self motivated individual to be a Senior Product Manager for Minerva's suite of application products and third party development tools. The Product Manager is responsible defining and coordinating all product specific activities across the functional areas within the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor market, competition, and customers to define product requirements
- Develop and communicate product road maps
- Work effectively with engineering to detail product requirements and priorities
- Coordinate product releases and ensure sales, partners, customers are properly informed and prepared for new releases.
- Manage relationships with technology partners (vendors for set-top boxes, conditional access and video-on-demand systems) to coordinate product releases, define requirements, resolve issues
- Conduct customer visits and product marketing presentations
- Author presentations, data sheets and marketing documents
- Prepare and deliver product training to sales/support/partners
- Act as product expert and evangelist
- Identify and ensure adequate and appropriate resources are assigned across the organization to the company's goals for the programs/projects are achieved and the customer's needs are met.
- Communicate thoughts and ideas effectively to members in multiple business units consisting of Sales and Marketing, Engineering, Professional Services, and Executive Staff members
Skills/Experience:
- 5+ years program or product management experience developing consumer or entertainment software. Proven results in the TV/video industry a big plus.
- Must be familiar with application development platforms and be able to contribute to the definition of an application architecture that encourages third party application development.
- Familiar with how to specify and deliver carrier grade products targeting the communications industry (Telco, Cable, Satellite, etc.).
- Familiarity with service delivery platforms, including "software as a service" critical.
- Must be able to "think like the customer" and be a customer advocate.
- Demonstrated experience in solving problems and getting compelling products out the door.
- Skilled at managing technical personnel and complex projects.
- Desire to work in a fast changing, competitive market with limited resources at your disposal.
- Must be hands on and be comfortable dealing simultaneously with strategic and tactical issues, and able to significantly contribute to solving technical and process issues.
Work experience should be in areas of product management, systems engineering, or technical management for networking, enterprise software, and/or media (e.g., TV, video) products.
Education:
- BS in Business or related field, or equivalent experience.
