Headquartered in Alviso, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately owned IPTV software infrastructure and application company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication market. Minerva's customers are broadband network service providers, including international telephone companies, competitive local exchange carriers, and private networks.
Key Responsibilities:
We are currently in search of a Sales Engineer to provide pre- and post-sales technical assistance to Minerva's regional sales managers, systems integrators, resellers, and strategic business partners in Latin America. Considerable travel is required. This position reports to the VP of Field Operations.
The Sales Engineer's responsibilities include:
- Driving the successful completion of customer trials and evaluations
- Support demonstrations of the Company's products at customer sites and trade shows
- Explaining the technical merits of the products to prospective customers
- Serving as the main technical point of contact for customers and prospects in the region
- Assisting in the response to RFIs, RFPs, and RFQs in the region
- Tailoring technical presentation materials for specific opportunities
Required Skills & Knowledge:
- Clear and effective technical communication skills in both English and Spanish. Portuguese fluency also desirable.
- Ability to create powerful technical presentation materials using Visio and PowerPoint
- Strong motivation to learn; a self-starter
- Deep technical background in one or many of the following fields: IPTV solutions, Oracle Database and Application Server technology, IP networking and multicast routing
- Strong troubleshooting skills. Strong interpersonal skills. Ability to handle stressful situations.
Desired Experience:
- Previous IPTV solution experience, including middleware, VOD, IP set-top box, or Conditional Access System implementations
- IPTV Network implementations, including access network, transport, or routing
- Enterprise-wide web application implementations
- Database Implementation, including Oracle RAC, clustering, and data replication
- Storage Area Network Implementation
Education: BSEE/BSCS or equivalent experience.
