Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: Alviso, CA
Headquartered in Alviso, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately owned networking infrastructure company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication and enterprise markets.
Play an integral role in the development of server side applications for the IPTV industry. The successful candidate will join the team developing back-end components to manage hardware devices that deliver carrier-grade video over IP.
Duties: Responsibilities will include the design, test, debug, integration, documentation and formal verification of the software for client/server applications in variety of architectures and technologies.
Skills: Strong Java, client-server, and multithreaded development experience. Proven record of developing on a Linux platform. Technical knowledge and experience with Oracle 10g Database, Oracle Application Server, Video Servers (Kasenna, Harmonic, SeaChange), Broadband Networking Equipment and Technologies (xDSL, Gigabit Ethernet, fiber loop, etc.) from major Network Equipment Providers (i.e., Nortel, Cisco, Alcatel, Lucent, Extreme Networks, etc.). Familiarity with J2EE, XML, HTTPS, servlets, and related technology. Knowledge of Packet Switched Data Networks, JDEV, IPTV and MPEG preferred. Strong English skills required.
Experience/Education: 3-7 years experience developing server-side applications and components. BSCS, MSCS, or equivalent experience.
