Title: Senior Systems Administrator
Location: Alviso, CA
Headquartered in Alviso, CA, Minerva Networks is a privately owned networking infrastructure company developing innovative end-to-end broadband IP television solutions in the telecommunication and enterprise markets.
We are currently seeking a Sr. Systems Administrator who is self-motivated, hardworking, and innovative, with strong networking, Linux, and client/server background. You will be part of an engineering team building software for advanced set-top boxes that are redefining the way people watch TV, and creating the management systems used to deliver TV over IP networks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Installation, configuration, integration, documentation, and verification of advanced IPTV systems including Video On Demand servers, Conditional Access Servers, Minerva Middleware servers, Linux, Oracle Databases, Oracle Application Servers, and set-top boxes.
- Troubleshoot anomalies in above ecosystems and work with third-party vendors and partners.
Required Skills:
- 7 years experience with advanced client/server systems using relational databases and application servers.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and very strong Linux installation/configuration and networking experience.
-Must have working knowledge of HTTP, RTSP, SOAP, and other networking protocols.
- Strong Linux skills required.
- Must be able to isolate faults to individual components and communicate issues with engineering when unable to resolve them independently.
- Strong scripting skills.
- Must have good people and communication skills.
- Attention to details and the ability to manage projects.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiar with Oracle databases, Oracle Application Server.
- Knowledge of embedded systems, DHCP server configuration, scripting, Java and C/C++ especially desired.
Travel:
- Up to 15% travel may be required.
Education:
- BS in CS or EE, or equivalent work experience.
