Key Responsibilities
Play an integral role in the development of innovative applications and services for the IPTV industry. The successful candidate will join Minerva’s Server Engineering Team developing client-side IPTV software – for set-top boxes, PCs, and mobile devices - that allows for the delivery of carrier-grade video services, including high-definition (HD) and standard definition (SD) television, Electronic Program Guide (EPG), video on demand (VOD), pay-per-view (PPV), digital video recording (DVR), whole-home DVR, network DVR, interactive application widgets over an IP network.
As a member of the Server Engineering Team, you will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of Minerva’s product suite, including iTVManager. iTVManager is an open, standards-based IPTV middleware solution deployed by hundreds of operators worldwide, and is based on a variety of enterprise-class technologies, including Java and Oracle.
Required Knowledge & Skills
· Strong Java, client-server, and multithreaded development experience
· Proven record developing carrier-grade software on a Linux platform
· Experience with Oracle 10g Database and Oracle Application Server
· Technical knowledge of Video Servers and Conditional Access solutions
· Familiarity with J2EE, XML, HTTPS, servlets, and related technology
· Solid computer science fundamentals, with an understanding of how to design and implement software in a carrier-grade environment.
· Understanding of client/server software implementation and/or distributed systems.
· A high level of customer satisfaction, which exceeds standard levels of performance.
· Able to work in a fast-paced environment and with small and/or remote teams.
· Fast learner, solid problem solver with great testing and debugging skills.
· Strong verbal and written communications skills.
Required Experience
· 4+ years experience designing and implementing scalable server-side applications
· BSCS, MSCS, or equivalent experience.
· Demonstrated experience in the complete product lifecycle, from conception through delivery.
· Experience with agile software methodologies is a plus.
