Better Television
Broadband TV
New video compression, streaming and caching technologies present both competitive challenges and new opportunities for Pay-TV operators. HTTP Live Streaming (HLS) provides automatic bit-rate adaptation so that a common video stream can be shared by devices with different screen resolutions, processing power and available network bandwidth. Consumers can therefore enjoy the best possible viewing experience for any given combination of these parameters.
While leading over-the-top service providers were the first to adopt and benefit from these new technologies, more and more legacy pay-TV providers are embracing them to offer better services to their existing subscribers (e.g. blended IPTV and OTT services) and to deliver a new class of television services (Broadband TV) to more subscribers.
Minerva iTVFusion for Broadband TV is the centerpiece of a complete ecosystem for the delivery of both linear and on-demand broadband television services over broadband networks. In partnership with a select number of leading ecosystem partners Minerva has assembled a robust solution to enable the management and monetization of television services delivered via managed and unmanaged broadband networks to set-top boxes, connected consumer devices, personal computers, tablets, and smart phones.
